Wood Dining Room Tables | Since Feng Shui is an ancient Chinese art of this arrangement of objects to create a harmonious totality which optimizes the flow of power to attract fruition of aims, therefore is Vaastu Shastra the Indian art of designing and constructing living environments that are in harmony with the physical and metaphysical forces.
Vaastu prescribes the way the furniture should be put and how the different rooms of the home such as the dining area should be oriented concerning direction and construction. Vaastu informs you how you should organize your dining room furniture in a way that is quite auspicious. The Vaastu of this dining area and dining room furniture is said to affect the positive effect that ingestion will have on your family and you.
The fundamentals of Vaastu indicate that the direction is the western portion of the home. There are directives for your dining room furniture: the dining table, shouldn’t be put against the wall and there needs to be space all over the dining table to move. The dining table can be of a square or rectangle shape.
Such as the tenets of Feng Shui, Vaastu also requires the dining area to be free of clutter and not to be crowded with too much furniture. If the dining area is an open dining space; i.e. one which merges with or to the kitchen and / or the drawing room space, there should be a distinction made for the dining room space by demarcating with a screen or some potted plants.
Back in Vaastu, not just are there instructions for organizing dining room furniture such as the dining table along with the dining seats but also the different members of the household should be seated. It’s suggested that the parents of the household must sit facing the North, North East, or Eastern directions. It’s also suggested that should the kids be seated in they gain control that specific direction or the home and impose their own will!
In keeping with ancient Indian customs of animals Vaastu advises that before beginning the meal, some offering should be made into a cow, crow or dog. It’s considered inadvisable to have a bathroom adjacent to or opening out on to the dining area. Since there’s much emphasis put on the actual construction of this room and not the placement of the dining area furniture, it’s suggested that the dining table shouldn’t be put under a beam. The colour palette for the walls of the dining area considered suitable by Vaastu are crimson or pink or non- relaxing and jarring colors such as cream, or yellow.
