Antique Dining Room Sets

Antique Dining Room Sets | Much like Feng Shui, Vaastu concerns itself with the flow of energy that in Sanskrit is Pran’ or Life Force and which finds its corresponding term in Feng Shui as Chi’.

Vaastu prescribes the different rooms of the house such as the dining room should be oriented concerning construction and direction and the furniture should be placed. Vaastu tells you how you need to arrange your dining room furniture in a way that is auspicious. The Vaastu of dining room furniture and the dining room is believed to influence the impact that eating will have on your family and you.

The principles of Vaastu indicate that the most beneficial way is the western section of the house. There are also directives for the dining room furniture: the dining table, should not be set against the wall and there should be sufficient space all over the dining table to move. The dining table may be of a rectangle or square shape.

Like the tenets of Feng Shui, Vaastu also needs the dining room to be free of clutter and to not be crowded with too much furniture. If the dining room is an open dining area; i.e. one that merges with or into the kitchen and / or the drawing room area, there should be a distinction made for the dining room area by demarcating with a display or any potted plants.

Back in Vaastu, not only are there any instructions for arranging dining room furniture such as the dining table along with the dining chairs but also many members of their family should be seated. It’s suggested that the parents of their family should sit facing the North, North East, or Eastern directions. It’s also suggested that should the children be seated in the house, they get control or that direction and impose their own will upon their parents!

In keeping with ancient Indian customs of creatures Vaastu advises that before beginning the meal, a few offering should be made to a cow, crow or dog. It’s deemed inadvisable to have a toilet adjoining to or opening out on to the dining room. As there’s much emphasis placed on the structure of the space and not the positioning of the dining room furniture, it’s advised that the dining table should not be placed below a beam. The colour palette for the walls of the dining room considered suitable by Vaastu are pink or orange or non- relaxing and jarring colors such as cream, or yellow.
